Position Title: Motiv Manager

SALARY/STATUS: $49,920 Annually / Full-Time / Exempt

The Motiv Manager will represent the Jewish Teen Initiative by implementing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of Motiv. This position will be responsible for coordinating 2-3 community wide events, leading teen service internships and curating summer volunteer efforts to capitalize on teen availability. The Motiv Manager will develop and maintain relationships with high school educators, community professionals, club leaders and influencers of teen service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.A. or B.S. in a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of significant volunteer experience including volunteer management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with high school students and working knowledge of teen trends and interests.
  • Knowledge of social media strategy across multiple platforms.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office; particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Competency in Google Drive Applications; Docs, Slides, Sheets, Etc.
  • Knowledge of event planning and project coordination.
  • Willing to contribute to a fast-paced, positive team and office environment.
  • Ability to attend conferences and workshops which may include travel.

  • Frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms for long periods of time.

Position Title: AS ONE VOCAL ENSEMBLE Music Director

SALARY/STATUS: $2,000 Stipend for the year / Part-time / Temporary

JCompany's AS ONE VOCAL ENSEMBLE is a performance training group, composed of talented young artists from all over San Diego County, who will sing their way into your heart! These young artists (grades 2-7) not only serve as junior ambassadors of JCompany Youth Theatre, but they also reach out to give positive entertainment to charitable organizations, local schools, the elderly, and others. The Music Director is responsible for developing and teaching voice-based curriculum and for attending and teaching at all scheduled rehearsals. The Music Director is also responsible for playing piano for all rehearsals and during all performances and for coordinating with the JCompany Artistic Director on all public performances.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A passion for the promotion of Youth and Educational theatre programming.
  • Piano skills for teaching choral music, and performance accompaniment.
  • Knowledge of basic Jewish culture is also desirable, but not required.
  • Well-organized, attentive to detail, and possess the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills while maintaining a positive demeanor when working with children and parents are a must.

Position Title: Guest Services Team Member

PAY RATE/STATUS:$11.50-$16.00 per hour DOE / Part-time

Under the supervision of the Guest Services Manager, the Guest Services Team Member is a high profile customer service position delivering the highest level of service to our members, exemplifying professionalism, and creating a welcoming and friendly environment. The Guest Services Team Member is responsible for welcoming guests, answering phones, managing customer issues and requests, and providing administrative support to the Community Engagement management team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma is preferred but not required.
  • 1 year of experience in hospitality/service industry.
  • Previous experience in Box Office or Guest Services is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience with Tessitura, Ticketmaster, Showare, Paciolan or additional ticketing software/other CMS programs is preferred but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to become a Tessitura Master-User.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certified (or willingness to become certified)

Position Title:  Lifeguard I-II/Lead Lifeguard (ALL POSITIONS NEEDED)

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Lifeguard I-II/Lead Lifeguard is responsible for the safety of members and participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the JCC Aquatics team for members and non- members of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, Friedenberg Olympic Pool.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Current certificates preferred – American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First-Aid certification, American Red Cross Blood Pathogen, American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
  • Can train/certify staff on all certifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.
  • Frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly required to communicate.

Position Title:  Swim Team Assistant Coach

PAY RATE/STATUS: $12.00-$14.00 per hour DOE / Part-time

Under the direction of the JCC Swim Team Head Coach, the Swim Team Assistant Coach assists in developing, organizing and implementing the JCC Barracuda Swim Team. Provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for swim team participants in accordance with JCC policies and procedures and creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Current certificates required – American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First-Aid certification, American Red Cross Blood Pathogen, American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. (Note: All Certificates Must be submitted along with applicants resume, front and back images are required of each document
  • A minimum of 6 months coaching experience.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sound competitive swimming skills, and the ability to implement and teach these skills in a positive, healthy manner.
  • Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).

Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the swim instructor is responsible for planning and teaching private and group swim lessons for members and non-members of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, Friedenberg Olympic Pool.
