Community Service Projects

Each month we will be advertising and promoting a community service project to embark on based on the consideration of the Teen Leadership Council. We will be collaborating with community service organizations, other Jewish Agencies and Youth groups to promote community engagement and build partnerships. This is a great way to get your community service hours for the month and learn more about the community we live in.

Tastes of Israel

Tuesday, March 6, 2018

Join us for this year's Like Israel Project: Tastes of Israel!
For this year, the teens will learn about and have a stronger bond with Israel through cooking authentic and tasting authentic food. Teens and their friends will be split into one of eight different stations where they will be doing the hands-on cooking and preparation of a Israeli dish, before enjoying the food and exploring the other food stations.
Come cook, eat, explore, and educate before leaving this event with a full stomach and a full heart towards Israel.

Senior Buddies

Thursdays from 4-5pm on the following dates:
January 18, February 15, March 15, April 26

An excellent teen volunteer opportunity! Meet with older folks and help them with technology while gaining community service hours! In partnership with the JCC Senior Department, teens will help explain things like Facebook, email, Skype, uploading pictures, and more. Participants will make a wonderful difference in the lives of these older folks and maybe even learn a thing or two!

SENIOR BUDDIES (Grades 9-12)

The JCC Teen Leadership Council is teaming up with the Seniors Department to create a meaningful and enriching community service project. Teens meet with seniors to support our seniors in learning how to navigate technology. Help with iPhones, Facebook, and Word processing are just some of the ways our teens can connect and serve. Participants will gain community service hours while getting to know (and learn too!) from their elders.

All teens are welcomed to join in this great community service project!

Sunday, April 2
